S B Thambi, Deputy Director General of Meteorology, RMC, said, “Since the depression started moving to the Andhra Pradesh coast, there will be no rains in Chennai. With the well-marked low moving up north, the showers have eased over Chennai and surrounding areas, since Tuesday afternoon. Though the rains eased over north coastal Tamil Nadu, the movement of the low favorable wind pattern over few parts of interior Tamil Nadu brought rain to many places in Salem, Villupuram and Cuddalore districts,” said K Srikanth, city-based weather blogger. He also added that Chennai will remain overcast for the next two days. Kallakurichi in Villupuram recorded 58 mm, while Vazhappadi in Salem recorded 52 mm on Tuesday.
