20 Divakaran’s supporters held

While the Income Tax Department officials raided five premises on Friday, including V Divakaran’s three premises, police arrested 20 of his supporters for allegedly obstructing them from entering the college owned by Divakaran. When the I-T officials were entering the premises of the Sengamalathayar Educational Trust Women’s Arts College on Friday in Mannargudi, supporters of Divakaran asked the police to check the contents of the car before allowing them inside the campus. The police obliged and allowed a few cars after checking them. Even when they were arguing, a car with I-T officials entered the premises and it was stopped by the supporters. An altercation ensued and police arrested 20 persons.
