Petitioner, Raju, from Ramanathapuram, in his petition, had stated that the centenary function had been planned to be conducted at the Amma park which was set up after repeated petitions to the government by the people of Ramanathapuram.
 He said If the meeting is conducted in the park, some of the infrastructure facilities such as benches 
and chairs would be shifted or even damaged. Also, in the name of security people would not be allowed in the park for some days and it would affect the people of the area as it is one of the few places where people can spend time qualitatively. It has several facilities such as a separate place for walking, playing games and recreation. So, in the interest of the people, the court should direct the Ramanathapuram Collector not to give permission to use the park for the function. It has to be shifted to another location, prayed the petitioner. 
FIR on Pugalenthi won’t be dismissed 
CHENNAI: The Madras High Court has dismissed the plea moved by Va. Pugalenthi, State Secretary of Karnataka AIADMK seeking to quash the FIR registered against him and 16 others including TTV Dinakaran for sedition by distributing pamphlets against NEET. Justice M.S Ramesh in his order held “Since the slogans/ sentences/phrases prima facie constitute the offences of sedition and defamation the Salem Police are justified in registering the complaint against the petitioner and others.” The judge also held “Now that this court has found that the complaint discloses the possible commission of the offences, it would not be appropriate to interfere with the investigation.”
