    Ramnad fisherman reported missing

    Owing to rough sea and high tide, a fisherman from Thangachimadam in Ramanathapuram district, who went to fish on Wednesday, fell into the sea and is reported missing. Though a rescue mission was launched immediately, and is still on, he is yet to be traced.

    The missing fishermen is identified as Anthony Prasad. He along with Glastan, Meristan and Renistan had ventured into the sea in a mechanised boat owned by Anthonysamy on Tuesday afternoon. 

    While they were fishing 13 nautical miles from Erwadi coast, because of rough sea and high tides the boat had shaken vigorously and Anthony Prasad slipped and fell into the sea. Immediately, fellow fishermen had informed the Coastal Security Group (CSG) and search operation commenced in the morning. 

    Fellow fishermen too joined the CSG in the rescue operation. Four rescue boats and helicopters have been pressed into service for tracing the missing fisherman.
