File report on River Vaigai works, Corporation told

Petitioner KK Ramesh stated that the Vaigai river is subjected to pollution and indiscriminate sand mining. So, the Court should direct the administration to form a permanent supervising committee to contain pollution and illegal sand mining. 

When the petition was heard, on Monday, by the Divisional Bench comprising judges Venugopal and Abdul Kuthus, public prosecutor informed the court that all the encroachments were removed and the riverbed had been desilted. The judges then directed the Corporation Commissioner to file a detailed report on works undertaken at Vaigai River from September 18 and posted the next hearing to December 7.
