Petitioner KK Ramesh from Madurai stated that it is important to contain the smoke emanating from the vehicles.

The vehicles that run for more than one year should compulsorily obtain pollution certificates. Throughout the state there are 248 pollution certifying centres which provide pollution certificates to the vehicles after checking the smoke aspect.

It is not sure whether pollution certificates are checked properly in the RTO offices. Even the SC had laid down several regulations for vehicular pollution and when vehicles shift from liquid fuel to gas the pollution levels can be contained.

Though he had petitioned the principal secretary of state transport department and other officials concerned there was no action from them.
