Rajiv Gandhi killer case posted to November 9

Murugan said that he had sought permission from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami to take up a jeeva samadhi. 

Asked if he had applied for parole to conduct the marriage of his daughter Harithra, the Rajiv assassination case convict said his wife Nalini, another convict in the same case, had to apply first as the mother. Stating that he was following all government rules scrupulously, Murugan said that he expected to be granted parole soon. 

During the day, he was produced before the judicial magistrate (JM) court I in connection with a case registered by Bagayam police regarding seizure of a cell phone, a charger and a sim card on March 24 this year. He has attended 14 hearings (three in person and the rest through video conferencing) till now. Four witnesses, including Vellore central prison additional superintendent Murugesan, two warders and a police constable, were examined after which the JM posted the hearing to November 9.
