After the meeting, Udayakumar said that the North-East monsoon rain is predicted from October 25 this year and all the districts authorities are asked to equip themselves to tackle the situation as the rainfall is expected more than the last year.Â
The Minister also stated that the state government has concentrated more on the coastal districts. The Minister asked the district administration and the PWD to ensure that the bunds of the water bodies are strong and also keep sand bags in stock to prevent floods.Â
Enough stock of ration items, vegetables and other essential commodities should be ensured. The officials should also check if cyclone relief centres had all facilities, the minister added.
