Woman kills child, hangs self after husband’s death
The Katpadi police registered a case and are investigating the suspected murder and suicide of Ruth Christiana (28), wife of Rex (30), of CM John street in Senguttai in Katpadi on Monday.

The couple were married more than a year ago and frequently quarrelled over Rex being without a job for quite some time.
Rex went to Madurai in search of a job and following his efforts not bearing fruit, committed suicide in Madurai two days ago.
On hearing of her husband’s death, Ruth Christiana killed her one -year-old son Paul by asphyxiating him with a pillow and then hanged herself from the ceiling fan.
She was discovered by neighbours, who informed the police, who sent the bodies to the Vellore government Pentland hospital for post mortem.
