Justice K Ravichandrabaabu, on conceding to the time sought by the Advocate General Vijay Narayan to file a counter, adjourned the case. The AG also submitted that the counter affidavit has been finalised and it would be served on the counsels appearing for the petitioners. The judge also noted that the interim order stands until further orders.
Hearing over expelled MLAs’ plea deferred
The plea seeking a direction to the Assembly Speaker to disqualify Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam and 10 other AIADMK MLAs under the anti-defection law for voting against Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami has been adjourned to October 27.Â
Despite Advocate General Vijay Narayan insisting on the case being heard during the first week of November, Justice K Ravichandrabaabu posted the case to October 27. Kapil Sibal, appearing for the DMK, contended that the hearing can’t be delayed.
