Beware of online frauds: TANFAMA

The firecracker unit has not lagged behind in offering purchases on the internet. It has seen a huge jump, thanks to the huge discounts being offered. However, representatives of TANFAMA, cautioned that there are a number of unresolved issues in online sales. First is the lack of a regulatory mechanism for the online sale of crackers. 

“Anyone can start a website and list the crackers. Although the names of the original company is listed in the website, the same is not delivered to the customer,” said one of them. Secondly, many of the ‘websites’ offer a staggering discount and customers fall prey to the tricksters. 

Often, what is ordered online is not delivered. When they try to contact the seller on the website, no satisfactory response or compensation is offered by the seller. Above all, the crackers are sent through a courier service, which is completely illegal. 

“The good thing is that the customers who had opted to buy the crackers online last year, have now returned to our stores to get quality crackers after personal verification,” said the office bearer.
