Subash Pannaiyar, along with his accomplice Dhara Singh, appeared in the Second Additional Sessions Court. During the hearing, Judge Chandra cancelled the non-bailable warrant issued against the duo following which they were granted bail. They were also directed to appear for investigation in the murder case of one Singaram on October 12.

Subash Pannaiyar had a prolonged enmity with a Dalit leader Pasupathy Pandian which resulted in more than 20 murders on both the sides. It is said that Pasupathy Pandian and his wife Jessintha Pandian were murdered by Subash Pannaiyar’s gang and he was booked as the prime accused in the murder case. Following that, on March 8, 2016, there was an attempt to murder Subash Pannaiyar using country bombs.

However, he had escaped unhurt. It is said that two aides of Subash Pannaiyar were murdered by the Pasupathy Pandian’s men during that incident. Meanwhile, Singaram, one of the accused in the double murder case, was allegedly hacked to death by Subash Pannaiyar’s gang when he was taken to court from Palayamkottai prison. Subash Pannaiyar was booked as the key accused in the case.

Recently, Subash Pannaiyar was declared a ‘proclaimed offender’ and a non-bailable warrant was issued against him by Tirunelveli court. Pannaiyar had moved the Madurai Bench of Madras High Court to cancel the non-bailable warrant but the High Court had directed him to appear in the lower court and get the non-bailable warrant cancelled.
