On Day 3, Sasi sticks to parole conditions

Contrary to her earlier visits, she spent more time with Natarajan, who was awake, but was unable to speak since he had undergone a tracheostomy. 

Sources said, Natarajan communicated his response through gestures when she enquired about his health. Sasikala, who visited the hospital was accompanied by her relatives Krishnapriya, Vivek and Jai Anand on Monday morning. When her vehicle approached the hospital entrance, party functionaries showered flowers, shouted slogans and welcomed her. 

She stayed for about two hours at the hospital and had a discussion with the doctors on Natarajan’s health. For the third consecutive day, media attention was on her residence and hospital, despite the conditions of parole barring her from talking to the media or entertaining visitors including political functionaries. 

So far, she had stuck to the parole conditions and had not met political functionaries or MLAs supporting her. However, the parole conditions had generated resentment among her supporters who were initially enthusiastic that their leader’s brief visit would have an impact on the political situation. 

Just before her release on parole, Handloom minister OS Manian and Lok Sabha deputy Speaker M Thambidurai had openly spoken about a patch up between the ruling faction headed by Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and Sasikala’s family. 

But, the ruling group is not under any pressure for a patch up with Dinakaran since the Madras High Court hearing on floor test and disqualification of rebel MLAs had been adjourned to  November 2.
