Parole reviving ‘sleeper cells,’ claims TTV camp
Deposed general secretary of AIAMDK VK Sasikala’s emergency parole to visit her ailing husband M Natarajan appears to have revived ‘sleeper cells’ talks in her camp, on Sunday.

The term ‘sleeper cells’ always dismissed by the ruling dispensation had surfaced after Co-operatives Minister Sellur K Raju had maintained that the ousted leader was instrumental in forming the government and its continuance in the tumultuous times after the death of the AIADMK supremo J Jayalalithaa.
C R Saraswathi, a TTV Dinakaran loyalist, lauded the minister for his earnest remarks endorsing Sasikala’s role in installing the government.
“The sleeper cells there are coming out one by one,” she said referring to Raju as one among them. ‘Sleeper cell’ had become one cliché, which Dinakaran often used to up his ante against the Edappadi K Palaniswami government, to claim that there are supporters among the legislators present in the ruling faction and that they would be rallied in at a required time.
Saraswathi wondered as to how the conscience of those with ruling group was not pricking them after viewing the visuals of Sasikala going to hospital beamed by the TV channels.
“Those in the rival camp will be seized of the thought that the government was put in place by Sasikala. Only Sasikala and Dinakaran would be able to chart the party’s course and the cadre too were aware of that fact,” she said.
On day 2 of her parole, the convict in a disproportionate assets case visited her husband, who had undergone multiple-organ transplant at Global Hospital in Perumbakkam around noon. Sasikala was greeted by scores of party men at several locations en route to the hospital and on her way back.
