Four of a family washed away in flash floods in Tiruttani; 3 bodies recovered
Bodies of two persons, a woman and a girl, of a four-member family, which were washed away in flash floods in a stream at Tiruttani a couple of days ago, were retrieved on Friday. Police said that the bodies were recovered from a culvert near Iyyan Kandigai Lake in Tiruttani.

The incident happened when Parthibhan (40), a tailor, along with his wife Bhuvaneswari (35), daughter Swetha (11) and son Karthik (8), was returning on a bike to their house in Makankalipuram village in RK Pet near Tirutani after attending a family function at Chittoor in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh on Sunday. While they were crossing the causeway near Iyyan Kandigai, all the four were washed away in the flash floods.Â
Though their house was locked for two days, neighbours thought that they had stayed back in Chittoor. Meanwhile, the bodies of Bhuvaneswari and Swetha were found in a culvert near Iyyan Kandigai Lake. Parthibhan’s body was retrieved earlier on Thursday.Â
The body of an eight year old boy is yet to be recovered, police said. A search has been launched by officials in the region to find the body of Karthik.
