Plaint against Rajini for remarks on voters
Actor Rajinikanth had found a new enemy in public as he shamed voters for defeating the late actor Sivaji Ganesan while the latter’s memorial was unveiled earlier this week, prompting a forum to knock on the doors of Chief Electoral Officer asking to act against the Superstar for the snide remarks.

The forum, representing the common people, in its petition stated that the actor’s assertion demeaned the voters generally, who exercised their franchise to non-actors.
The forum’s president VS Lingaperumal said, “The tone and tenor of Rajinikanth is an indirect intimidation on the electorate who do not want to vote for any actors in future elections. It also interferes the individual voters from using their free will to choose their representatives. The actor’s assertion requires necessary legal action against him,” the forum demanded, in its petition.
“Sivaji has left a lesson not just in cinema but also in politics. He started his own political party, fought and lost from his own constituency. This was not an insult to him, but the people of that constituency. So, the message is, to succeed in politics, it’s not enough to just have fame and clout. There is something beyond that. I don’t know what it is,” Rajinikanth said at the Tamil thespian’s memorial unveiling ceremony which also marked the late actor’s birth anniversary on October 1.
