    Delhi gang held for phishing

    Four persons, including three from Delhi, were arrested by the Tiruchy City police on Thursday on charges of cheating people by posing as bank officials and taking their account details over phone. They have siphoned off Rs 2.16 lakh in cash.

    As many as 12 phishing complaints were received by the city police for the past 10 months and the Cyber Crime police started a probed.   Later, the City Commissioner of Police A Arun formed a special team, which traced the culprits to Delhi and nabbed Murari alias Sithesh Kumar (23) from Delhi, Ganesh (29) of Subash Nagar in Delhi, Arun Murugan (33) of Indiarpuri in Delhi and Vadivel from Salem. The four confessed to their crime. 

    All the four were brought to Tiruchy on Thursday.  Along with the recovered cash of Rs 19,000. They were produced in the court and then lodged in the prison.
