BJP: PM was ready to send Jaya abroad for treatment
A day after TNCC chief Su Thirunavukkarasar questioned the role of the Centre in treatment provided to former chief minister J Jayalalithaa, BJP state unit president Tamilisai Soundararajan on Thursday revealed that the Union government was ready to send the AIADMK leader abroad for treatment.

In a series of tweets, in which she raised questions over Jayalalithaa’s delayed admission to the hospital and treatment, Tamilisai said Prime Minister Narendra Modi was ready to send an air ambulance for Jayalalithaa’s treatment. Stating that when the former chief minister attended the inaugural function of the metro rail on September 21, in which the BJP leader too participated, Tamilisai recalled that Jayalalithaa did not show any symptoms of deteriorating health to the level of losing her life. Drawing attention to the health condition of the former CM before her admission to the Apollo Hospitals, Tamilisai said she had not been taken proper care of at Poes Garden.
“Jayalalithaa’s sugar level was as high as 508 and her pulse rate 88, when she was admitted to the Apollo Hospitals,” she said. The BJP leader questioned why Jayalalithaa’s health was allowed to deteriorate to such an alarming level. It was regrettable that Jayalalithaa was not provided oxygen at Poes Garden itself, Tamilisai, a doctor, opined that such a treatment could have avoided breathing difficulties for Jayalalithaa. Meanwhile, PMK founder S Ramadoss questioned the silence of Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam on the treatment provided to the former chief minister.
Recalling Panneerselvam’s demand for a CBI inquiry into the death of Jayalalithaa, the PMK leader asked why he was keeping silent now. Panneerselvam, who was in the hospital round the clock, should explain the truth. However, sidelined leader TTV Dinakaran’s group asserted that the best possible treatment was given to Jayalalithaa and daily reports were submitted to the Prime Minister’s Office.
The group’s spokesperson CR Saraswathi said everyone, including the PMO, Union Home Ministry and Governor, was monitoring the treatment and added that they could have raised questions if anything had gone wrong.
Four Puducherry MLAs back EPS

The MLAs A Anbazhagan, Vaiyapuri Manikandan, Baskar and KAU Asana, who were supporting the faction headed by TTV Dinakaran so far, signed the affidavits expelling Dinakaran from the party and removing VK Sasikala from the post of general secretary.
With all the four MLAs of the AIADMK in Puducherry extending support to Palaniswami, the Chief Minister’s hands are further strengthened in the case for retrieving the party’s ‘Two Leaves’ symbol. The affidavits signed by the four MLAs would be submitted to the Election Commission immediately.
