It is said, K Sivakumar of Pappa Nagar in Nanjikkottai on September 24, lodged a boy missing case with the Tamil University police in which he stated that his 11-year-old son Kishore, a Class 6 boy who was playing near the house on the previous day evening went missing. Based on the complaint, the police interrogated the other boys who had played with him on September 23 evening. They also held inquiries with the neighbours.
Meanwhile, T Aravind alias Viswanath (22) of the same area surrendered before the village administrative officer. He confessed that he had physically abused Kishore in the evening when he was walking back home. He explained that Kishore tried to hide behind him. When Aravind asked him to go away, Kishore reportedly abused Aravind verbally. Angered at this, Aravind tried to strangulate Kishore who suddenly developed a bout of epilepsy. A frightened Aravind escaped. When he returned after a few hours, he came to know that Kishore had died already.
Aravind, later took Kishore’s body to an empty housing site, near his house and buried it. On Tuesday morning, the Tamil University police exhumed the body of Kishore in the presence of Thanga Prabakaran, the tashildar of Thanjavur and sent it for post-mortem.
