Last year, three engineers from Tiruvannamalai and Kanchipuram left their lucrative jobs in multi-national companies to launch a website aimed to train candidates for bank exams. At present, the success of the website made the trio launch a free app on the same subject and it has already recorded more than 15,000 downloads.

Manohar Veera, the founder of the site ‘Exambin’, was working as a credit manager with a bank but quit it to start the site with two of his friends who from a private engineering college in Chennai.

Speaking to DT Next, Veera said that when he was working as a manager at the bank, he was not satisfied with the work and then shifted to software development.

But he was not happy even with that and decided to start his own venture in October 2016.

The friends — Shekfarith used to work for a UK-based outsourcing company, while Loganathan worked with a media house in the city — were eager to be a part of the new venture when they heard of it from Manohar. All three of them are looking after specific departments in the coaching aspects.

After receiving an overwhelming response to the website, they decided to launch an Android app also named ‘Exambin’ and so far, it has been downloaded by more than 15,000 people. Though the exact number of people who passed bank exams with the app’s help cannot be ascertained, the makers received positive remarks from aspirants, said Veera.

When asked why they thought of coming up with such a website and app, Manohar said that when they looked for sites on bank coaching, they found that most websites were providing training only in Hindi. So, Manohar and his friends decided to work on a website that would provide good quality training to students in English.

Manohar also said that they would be launching a coaching service in Tamil Nadu to help students from rural areas crack the bank exams.
