Postal ballot date for Waqf Board polls extended
The state government on Friday announced that it had extended the date for filing applications for postal ballot by desiring eligible voters for the election of members to Tamil Nadu Waqf Board.

A release from Secretariat said the election for members to Tamil Nadu Waqf Board is scheduled to take place on October 10.
“The voters (muthavallis) who intend to cast their vote by post should apply for the postal ballot. The form prescribed in the Annexure-II is available in the O/o Superintendent of Waqfs and the same should be duly filled in and should accompany a certificate from the concerned Zonal Superintendents of Waqfs establishing the voter’s identity. The postal ballot paper will be sent to the voter through registered post,” the release added.
As per the earlier deadline, the filled in applications seeking postal ballots should reach the returning officer before September 19 in person or through post. While the deadline had been extended by two days, and the filled in application should reach on or before September 21 to the Returning Officer/deputy secretary to government, backward classes, most backward classes and Minorities Welfare Department, Secretariat, Chennai 9. The filled in postal ballots should be deposited in the box kept in the office of the Returning Officer or sent through post on or before October 10.
