Political uncertainty will end soon: TTV Dinakaran
Ousted AIADMK deputy general secretary TTV Dinakaran said here on Friday that a decision on the prevailing political uncertainty would be taken before this month end. “We can be at peace after that,” he said.
Chennai
At a media briefing, he termed the Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and deputy Chief Minister O Paneerselvam as good actors. He said they were willing to sacrifice anything to cling on to power. They were threatening rebel MLAs because they were in power and the police were under their control. “If they are not in power they will all be forced to go back to their old vocations which is why they do not want to let go,” he added. “It is time for them to go home and then we will celebrate,” he said.
Asked whether his party has plans to align with the DMK, he said, “There is no direct or indirect alliance with the DMK. However, what is wrong in impleading in the DMK case seeking a floor test for which they had moved the High Court?” he queried.
Referring to the September 12 General Council, he said, it was only a meeting of the AIADMK (A) group and the validity of the resolutions will be known only on October 23 in the court. He added that action would be taken against those who attended despite being told not to do so.
He also said that general secretary VK Sasikala, presently in jail, will come out without a blemish if any inquiry is held. The court also ordered the Tiruchy corporation to allow them to hold a meeting in the Uzhavar Sandhai maidan, he ended.
NEET: TTV to hold meet in Tiruchy on September 19
AIADMK General Secretary TTV Dinakaran on Friday said a public meeting would be held on September 19 at Tiruchy to urge the Centre to exempt Tamil Nadu from the ambit of NEET.
He said the meeting would be held at Uzhavar Sandhai grounds at Tiruchy at 430 pm on September 19. Hitting out at Chief Minister K Palaniswami’s regime as “atrocious,” he alleged the government posed “obstacles” in holding the meet.
“Such ‘hurdles’ have been “shattered” and permission to hold the meet has been received from court,” he said in a statement here.
He also said he would be delivering his special address on the NEET issue that day. While anti-NEET meet was held by Opposition parties led by the DMK, BJP had organised a meeting to support the national test all at the same venue in Tiruchy days ago.
Anitha suicide
Protests against NEET had intensified in Tamil Nadu after a Dalit medical aspirant, Anitha, had committed suicide recently.
Though she had got high score in her Class 12, she could not score enough in NEET to get medical admission.
It may be recalled that the local authorities had reportedly denied permission for the meet to Dinakaran camp and the matter was taken to court.
TTV announces Perambur MLA as party whip
Ousted AIADMK deputy general secretary TTV Dinakaran has nominated Perambur MLA P Vetrivel as the party whip. It may be recalled that AIADMK(A&PTA) whip S Rajendran suggested action against the 19 pro Dinakaran MLAs following which assembly speaker P Dhanapal issued notices to them demanding an explanation for interacting with the press and for meeting the governor seeking the removal of Edappadi K Palaniswami recently. It was in this backdrop that Dinakaran nominated Vetrivel the party whip recently and the latter also handed over the sanction letter to Dhanapal. It may be recalled that prior to the Febraury 19 confidence vote against the EPS government, the then O Panneerselvam faction appointed Mettur MLA and former minister S Semmalai as whip though the EPS faction whip S Rajendran was still in office.
