    Southern Railways to follow old time-table till October 14

    Southern Railway (SR) on Thursday clarified that the new schedule of trains would come into effect from October 15, instead of October 1, 2017. All trains would be run as per the schedule of the existing time table till then, the SR release said.

    Kovai – Rameswaram special train: A special fare train (no.06076) would be operated to Rameswaram from Coimbatore on September 17 and 24.

    Starting from Coimbatore at 6.30pm, the train would reach Rameswaram at 4 am the next day. Special train (no: 06075) will leave Rameswaram at 10 pm on September 18 and 25 and reach Coimbatore at 8.10 am the following day.

    EMUs rescheduled: Changes have been made to EMU services between Chennai Beach and Chengalpet for two days from September 15 to facilitate engineering works for construction of a pedestrian subway at Perungalathur.

    Train No.40566 Chengalpattu – Chennai Beach EMU local, scheduled to leave Chengalpattu at 8.10 pm, would be partially cancelled from Chengalpattu to Tambaram. The train would run from Tambaram to Chennai Beach. EMUs starting from Beach at 3.55 am, 4.40 am, 5 am, 5.20 am, 5.55 am, 6.30 am and 6.45 am would be partially cancelled between Tambaram and Chengalpet on Sunday, September 17.

    Train No.40751 Chennai

    Beach – Tirumalpur EMU local, scheduled to leave Chennai Beach at 7.05 am, would be regulated / delayed at Tambaram for 20 minutes.

    EMUs would leave Chengalpet to Chennai Beach at 3.55 am, 4.30 am, 4.45 am, 5.10 am, 5.55 am, 6.35 am, 7 am, 7.25 am, 7.40am, 8.25am and 8.45 am and they would be partially cancelled between Chengalpet and Tambaram on Sunday.

    Five passenger specials: However, five passenger special EMUs would be operated from Chengalpet to Beach at one-hour interval from 4.30 to 8.30am on Sunday.

    Express Delay: Train no: 17644 Kakinada Port – Chengalpattu Circar express would be regulated / delayed at St Thomas Mount from 7.10 to 8am and would reach Chengalpet late by 50 minutes and train no: 17652 Kacheguda – Chengalpet express would be regulated / delayed at Mambalam suitably and would reach Chengalpet late by 30 minutes on Sunday. Train no: 56037 Chennai Egmore – Puducherry passenger train would start late by an hour from Egmore at 7.35am on September 17.
