MGR varsity to introduce online courses
Dr MGR University is planningto introduce several courses online. Two courses, including the one in Research Methodology are already available and the University hopes to launch the rest within six months.

Stating that it is a new teaching initiative of this University, vice chancellor Dr S Geethalakshmi said, “Information Technology is a boon to redefine teaching methods, so that the learning process continues without any hindrance. The university has introduced online teaching programmes to enable the student, faculty and interested individuals to update their knowledge.”
“Medical online courses and teaching will bridge the gap for students who cannot avail of the services of experts.
It will provide a step by step guide for procedures and laboratory tests.
The course content has been thoughtfully and thoroughly developed by concerned experts. We have started research methodology and legal medicine and are still going through the curriculum to introduce more
courses. This year, our objective is to introduce as many online courses for doctors, paramedical workers and others who may be interested in developing their knowledge,” she added.
To facilitate research, the university is periodically conducting research methodology workshops to benefit all students and faculty of all disciplines at their door step. Department of Epidemiology is conducting outreach programs on how to write dissertation and publish papers.
“Anyone interested can download the application forms from the website or apply via the app. It is not limited to any state or any person,” said a professor from the university.
