1,013 assistant surgeons inducted into service
As many as 1,013 Assistant surgeons were inducted into State’s health services for strengthening the outreach rural medical services, said Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami.

To mark their induction, the CM handed out appointment orders to as many as 10 among 1,013 candidates, who were selected by the Medical Services Recruitment Board (MSRB).
“We are pioneers in offering health services. The services of our doctors serving in State-rolls are as such it puts Tamil Nadu on top of the table in health service,” Palaniswami claimed in the event which was held at his camp office on Greenways Road.
His word of advice for the newly appointed doctors who would be serving in the rural pockets of the State was that they should reach out to the poor and needy and provide them necessary health services.
As for the State’s infrastructure of medical services, Palaniswami said the State was first in the country to set up MSRB to recruit and fill various categories of vacancies, including surgeons and special surgeons in state-run hospitals besides appointing personnel to posts created in new hospitals and primary health centres.
“We had set up MSRB in 2012. Since its inception, the Board had recruited as many as 22,042 personnel, including 9,777 surgeons, and 9,190 nurses,” he observed.
