Dinakaran’s supporters held for burning effigies
In Thanjavur, the supporters of TTV Dinakaran assembled in front of the Thanjavur railway junction as soon as the news spread that the General Council of AIADMK adopted a resolution to scrap the election of VK Sasikala as the general secretary of the party.

The supporters including former MLA C Rajendran, raised slogans against the Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and the Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam. They tried to burn the effigies of the CM and deputy CM, but the police personnel took them away effigies.
However, the protesters had a scuffle with the police and retrieved the effigy and then burnt the photos of the CM and Deputy CM. The police detained as many as 35 supporters of Dinakaran at Thanjavur railway junction.
Similar protests were also held near Anna Statue in Orathanadu, Pattukkottai, where a total of 28 protesters were held. Protests were held in Peravurani and Kumbakonam also.
