Ruling camp members have no self-respect, charges Stalin
Appreciating Villupuram government school teacher Sabarimala for resigning her job in protest of imposition of NEET, Leader of Opposition M K Stalin, on Thursday, said the rulers of the state even lack the self-respect the teacher possesses.

Taking potshots at Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami’s government, Stalin in a message posted on his official twitter handle, said, “We respect her (Sabarimala’s) sentiment. The rulers of the state do not have as much self-respect as the teacher.”
Earlier, talking to media persons here, Stalin reiterated that the ruling AIADMK was resorting to unscrupulous tactics to stay in power and the privilege notice sent to them was one such. Asserting that the ruling AIAMDK has majority neither to run the government nor in the privilege committee, the DMK working president justified that they have moved the High Court because the very act of sending notices to them was wrong.
Welcoming the order of the HC on their case, which, he said, has “protected democracy”, Stalin said the ruling dispensation should volunteer and tender its resignation at least henceforth. The LoP also asked the Governor Vidyasagar Rao to order the convention of the Assembly for the government to prove its majority on the floor of the House. When reporters drew his attention to three more MLAs reportedly withdrawing their support to the government, Stalin said, “I understood from media reports that 22 MLAs have now withdrawn their support (to EPS). I don’t know who they were and how much they were given.” Earlier, Stalin, in another statement, urged the state government to immediately rollback the reported reduction in fee concessions given to SC/ST students in medicine and engineering. He cautioned that the EPS regime would soon face drastic consequences if it does not roll back the reduction in fee concessions being given to Dalit students.
DMK delegation to meet Governor Vidyasagar Rao on Sept 10
DMK leaders are likely to meet Governor Vidyasagar Rao on September 10. Senior DMK sources confirmed to DT Next that they have sought appointment either on Sunday or Monday.
“We will most likely meet on September 10. How would he deny appointment to the Leader of Opposition? If he can meet TTV Dinakaran, why not us?” said a senior DMK leader, adding that they would again ask the Governor to call for a floor test. “It is simple logic. The governor had invited Edappadi K Palaniswami to form government only based on the letter of support given by 117+ AIADMK MLAS. Now 22 of those MLAs have withdrawn support to him, it is logical for the Governor to ask the CM to prove his majority,” the DMK leader reasoned.
