Rajinikanth has 25% vote share, claims Tamilaruvi Manian
Gandhiya Makkal Iyakkam founder Tamilaruvi Manian, who convened a meeting to have a debate over the political entry of superstar Rajnikanth, claimed that the actor had already decided to plunge into politics as ‘God has consented.’

Manian said Rajini had chosen Kamaraj and Annadurai as his role models and he has 25 per cent vote share in the state, which would increase to 45 per cent when he becomes the chief minister.
Addressing a well-attended gathering of Rajinikanth fans here on Sunday, Manian recalled that Ranji once told him that he had come to Chennai as an ordinary man 40 years ago and that the people had accepted him then. Now, he wanted to reciprocate his love to the people by providing an alternative in politics in the state, Tamilaruvi Manian said.
Stating that the state’s people looked up to Rajinikanth to provide a transparent government, Manian said that with his entry, the state would be freed of the Dravidian parties, which were steeped in corruption.
“This is our last chance and both the parties (Dravidian parties) have been functioning with a selfish motive and I have to liberate the state from their clutches,” Manian claimed that Rajinikanth had told him so.
He further said that the Cauvery issue would be solved at the earliest under Rajinikanth’s leadership and recalled the superstar’s 2002 announcement of grant of Rs 1 crore for linking of the rivers in south India.
“The Manmohan Singh government failed to link the rivers, but it will be made possible only by Rajinikanth and so, he has decided to plunge into politics,” Manian said.
Manian pointed out that except the AIADMK and the DMK, no other political party had more than five per cent vote share in the state.
