14,107 seats vacant after TNEA counselling ends
Anna University and its constituent colleges had 7,369 seats filled, 5,936 seats were filled in government and government-aided colleges.

As many as 14,107 seats are vacant after the conclusion of Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) counselling on Friday.
Around 2,793 students were allotted seats on the final day of the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions counselling. A total of 86, 355 seats were filled by August 11. Around 1,35, 552 students were called for counselling in the 20 day period. The counselling process started on July 23 for the 1.5 lakh applicants, who had filled the forms online.
By the end of the counselling, 1,045 seats were allotted in Aeronautical engineering, 1,059 for Automobile Engineering, 1,187 for Bio Technology. 8,199 for Civil Engineering, 14,769 for Computer Science, 16,060 for Electronics and Communication Engineering, 10,106 for Electrical and Electronics Engineering, 15,10 for Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, 19,601 for Mechanical Engineering, 219 for Civil Engineering – Tamil medium, 274 for Mechanical Engineering – Tamil medium and other branches saw 6,974 allotments.Â
Anna University and its constituent colleges had 7,369 seats filled, 5,936 seats were filled in government and government-aided colleges and 73,050 seats in self-financing colleges. A total of 14,107 seats are still vacant, after the counselling. Officials are expecting more seats to be surrendered by students after the NEET counselling begins.
