Dhivya Bharathi, in her documentary film, ‘Kakkoos’ had portrayed the problem of manual scavenging. The government instead of solving the issue had filed a case against her which is highly condemnable.
“Untouchability is a sin and caste is a system of slavery in India. We should follow the constitution framed by B R Ambedkar and should stand by it.
I support Dhivya Bharathi and I am penning a poem titled Kakkoos,” said Sharmila.
When asked about the problem created by right wing groups against her marriage, she replied that marriage is a private affair between two individuals and people protesting against her marriage have no business to do so.
“I am not frightened by the protesters. We are all mortals and I am not scared of death,” said Sharmila.
