Maoist case accused alleges police torture
One of the accused linked in a Maoist arms training case and was released recently alleged that police are continuously following him and causing mental agony to him.

Vivek (51), of Goripalayam in Madurai was arrested in 2012 for his alleged involvement in Maoist arms training at Western Ghats near Periyakulam in Theni district and after five years in prison, he was released recently.
He submitted a petition to Madurai Collector, K Veera Raghav Rao and demanded action. He said that he was arrested on charges of arms training at Periyakulam hills in 2012 and was released on May 18.
When he was released, his friends who were lawyers came to receive him and the sleuths attached to Q branch took photos of him. Wherever he went they followed him and informed his friends that he had links with Maoists.
Health problems
Fearing police action, his friends began avoiding him and he was slowly isolated. As he was suffering from diabetes and heart-related problems, he had gone to Chennai in a private omni bus. The sleuths followed him to the hospital and wanted to know about the treatment that was being given to thim.
Even the owner of the house in which he was living was threatened by the Q branch Police. As the owner was terrified with frequent police interventions, he has asked him to vacate the house. He wanted the district administration to intervene and reduce his mental agony.
