Car with deadly weapons seized, one dies

Sources claimed that the incident happened on Monday evening when a speeding car was stopped by police personnel at Sanampatti post. When the car was stopped, five persons from the car got down and police began checking the car. When the police detected deadly weapons inside the car, the five tried to escape. 

Immediately, the police began chasing them. When the gang neared a bridge, one of them fell down and died on the spot. Police identified the person as Ilayaraja from Nattarmangalam near Usilampatti in Madurai district. Based on a complaint from the Village Administrative Officer (VAO), Gurupandi, a case was registered and police then began the investigation. They are also in search of four more persons, who had fled the spot. 

Sources further said that the police are trying to find out why the gang was carrying deadly weapons. Police traced the car to Salem district.
