TN Health Minister Vijaya Baskar makes last-ditch effort with Centre regarding NEET exemption for the state
Vijaya Baskar, in a statement, reiterated that the Centre had assured to consider the representations in favour of state considering the impact it will have on the students that took state board exams.

Calling it a last ditch effort, State Health Minister C Vijaya Baskar on Monday met Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare and officials of the Prime Minister’s Office to secure exemption for Tamil Nadu from NEET. Vijaya Baskar met Union Minister J P Nadda and Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Prime Minister’s Office Jitendra Singh and briefed them on the need to provide exemption for the state. A detailed memorandum too was presented during the meeting.
Vijaya Baskar, in a statement, reiterated that the Centre had assured to consider the representations in favour of state considering the impact it will have on the students that took state board exams.
“This is the fourth round of back-to-back meetings between the Cabinet Ministers and the Union Ministers since the conclusion of the Budget Session of the State’s Legislative Assembly,” Vijaya Baskar said.
