Chandrayaan-II nearing final stage: Annadurai
Works for Chandrayaan-II are at the final stage and it would be launched in 2018, said Mayilsamy Annadurai, Scientist and Director of ISRO Satellite Centre, Bengaluru, at Rameswaram, on Friday.

Mayilsamy Annadurai visited the house of former President, APJ Abdul Kalam, on Friday, and interacted with the family of Kalam. He also had lunch in their house and then addressed the media. He also said that the memorial is designed in a way to honour Kalam and the works are undertaken to make sure that to visiting the memorial would have an entire glimpse of his life.Â
When asked about the satellite projects in the country, he replied that it was because of the efforts of Kalam that India is placed at top 5 in space technology. When asked about the future projects of ISRO, he replied Chandrayaan-I performed well and hence scientists pursued with Chandrayaan-II.Â
The works for Chandrayaan-II are nearing completion and the satellite would be launched in 2018. Similarly, scientists are working hard for Mangalyaan-II. As payload would be high in Mangalyaan-II, a suitable launch vehicle is being considered by them.Â
