Trio accidentally enters CRPF site, detained
Three persons from Kerala were detained by the police after they entered the firing range of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). Suspected to be Maoists, the trio was interrogated by officials of the state and national intelligence agencies on Wednesday.

After over 12 hours of drilling, the police believed that they had lost their way and had strayed into the Central Training College (CTC) of the CRPF late Tuesday evening.
The trio was detained as the place is not far from the Tamil Nadu-Kerala border where Maoist movement is active. Police sources identified the trio as Telson Thomas (21) of Ernakulam and Banees Balan (21) and Arshad Anwar (21) of Malappuram District. Thudiyalur inspector S Vetrivendhan said that they stayed in a house close to the Thudiyalur railway station for six months and worked as a/c mechanics. The three claimed to have been drawn by the beauty of the hills close to the CRPF CTC at Narasimhanaickenpalayam village. “They used to visit nearby areas when they were free and decided to trek the hill and were returning at 7 pm,” he said. The trio was booked under Section 447 (punishment for criminal trespass) of the IPC. Police sources said that the trio will be produced before the Judicial Magistrate-I in Coimbatore.

An Indian national with suspected ISIS links, who had been deported twice from Turkey, was arrested from the Indira Gandhi International Airport, the police said. An agent who had prepared his fake documents was also arrested, the police added. Shahjahan Velluva Kandy (32), from Kannur, was arrested by the Special Cell of Delhi Police.
