Soundarya Rajinikanth appears before court in divorce case

Soundarya and Ashwin Ramkumar were married in 2010 and the couple have a child. Claiming difference of opinion between them, a mutual consent divorce petition was filed in the family court on December 23 last year. 

As the six months cooling off period before mutual divorce ended on Friday, the couple appeared in the court. The duo will work out the separation details and file a joint memo of the agreement, containing details of maintenance if any, custody rights of the child, in the court in the next hearing. 

Once the court is satisfied with the content and after consulting both parties, it would grant them divorce. After reports about her troubled marriage broke out in Septemberlast year, Soundarya confirmed that she has separated from her industrialist husband and said that divorce talks were on. 

“News about my marriage is true. We have been separated for over a year and divorce talks are on. I request all of you to respect my family’s privacy,” the Kochadaiiyaan director had tweeted in last September.
