Refuting his sister and leader of MGR Amma Deepa Peravai J Deepa’s charge, he, however, urged her to approach the police if she wished to clear the air over the controversy. Deepak also claimed that he was in possession of the copies of the “will” of Jayalalithaa to at least seven properties including her house Veda Nilayam at Poes Garden.
“Deepa and I are the heirs to the properties. We have equal rights to enjoy the properties. We will approach the courts with copies of the “will” only when there is a dispute of ownership. The seven properties to which we stake claim do not figure in the list of properties that is named in the Disproportionate Assets (DA) case”, he said.
Asked whether he would allow Veda Nilayam to be converted into a memorial for Jayalalithaa, Deepak said that none had approached him so far in this regard, and added that he would cooperate if any such decision was taken.
