Allot enough time to raise people’s issues, says Stalin
DMK working president and Leader of Opposition in the Assembly M K Stalin on Wednesday assured that his party would play a constructive role in the House when it met to debate the demand for grants for various departments from next week.

Talking to media persons after emerging out of the Business Advisory Committee meeting, the Leader of the Opposition, who has been hitting out at Speaker P Dhanapal for being biased against the opposition, said they would raise a host of people issues constructively if the Chair gave them adequate time to speak in the House during the upcoming session.
Though it was a wee bit early to predict if the session would be stormy or smooth, Stalin’s assertion should at least help the treasury benches heave a sigh of relief, more so considering the height of pandemonium the DMK had created during chief minister Edappadi K Palanisamy’s vote of confidence motion a few months ago.
Meanwhile, DMK whip and Ottanchathiram R Chakrapani called for a meeting of the party legislators under the leadership of the working president on June 14. Earlier on Tuesday, the DMK working president while interacting with presspersons in Erode district, expressed doubts whether the government would last till June 14, the date of commencement of the Assembly session.
