BJP trying to destroy AIADMK: D Pandian
Hailing former Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa, senior Communist Party of India (CPI) leader and its national council member D. Pandian strongly felt that she would not have allowed the Centre to take control over Tamil Nadu.

Pandian was interacting with reporters in Coimbatore before participating in the party’s two-day State Executive Committee meeting that began on Wednesday. “When it comes to the State’s issues, she was not afraid of whoever was against her. She neither stooped nor gave chance to others to intimidate her,” he said on Wednesday.
“She boldly fought and protected the interest of the State,” he said and added that there would be no difference of opinion by any political leader in this aspect though there were a lot of differences in opinion with her over other issues. He expressed concern over the ministers, who served with her, keeping their mouths shut despite the Centre humiliating them and trying to take control over the State.
“The AIADMK is breeding factions. The number has climbed from one to three. We don’t know how many (factions) are yet to come,” he wondered. The senior Communist leader said, “They (BJP) are trying to destroy the identity of the State, not just the AIADMK. All parties should stay together and fight it.”
Responding to a question, Pandian said that their committee would decide on an alliance with the DMK. “Communists will support any party that will not allow BJP to set its feet in TN,” he said and made it clear that this is only political support and not an election alliance.
