They raised slogans condemning the BJP government and warned that they would fight the ban on cow slaughter tooth and nail. Tense moments prevailed as a few protesters resorted to block the busy Palakkad Main Road. On direction from the police, beef stalls in the locality were closed shortly before the protest.
