Second phase of PG medical counselling held
The Post Graduate Medical Counselling for Deemed Universities and self-financing colleges, which was cancelled on Monday, was held on Tuesday.

The candidates, who were not allotted seats on Monday, also attended the counselling session again that was conducted on Tuesday. “Vacant seats from phase one were also filled during the second phase,” said Dr Selvaraj, Secretary, Selection Committee. Of the 194 seats in deemed universities and 47 in self-financing colleges, 59 and 28 were allotted respectively, he added.
Instead of following the process of upgradation, the counselling was held on Monday as it was an order from the Central government to complete the exercise by May 30. So, as per the orders the process was completed on Tuesday. A total of 4,147 candidates were called for counselling to fill the seats in deemed universities, while a total of 2,755 candidates were called to fill seats in self-financing colleges, he said.
Totally, 147 candidates attended the counselling for self-financing colleges and 255 for Deemed Universities.
