Avoid politicising, resolve bus men issue, says CPM

Speaking to reporters here, Ramakrishnan said that the transport employees were only fighting for their rights as many workers were yet to get their retirement benefits. He called the present government the best example of a worst administration. 

“More than 22,000 retired staff have been waiting for several years to receive their retirement benefits. But, the government continues to remain a mute spectator,” he lamented. 

Blaming the Centre and the state of ruining the transport system in Tamil Nadu, he held the ruling party responsible for the inconvenience caused to the public. 

“Instead of working on the genuine demands of the transport staff, state ministers are trying to belittle the protests by giving a political colour and humiliating the protesting employees,” the CPM state secretary charged. 

The CPM leader further announced that the Left party would stage state-wide agitations between May 15 and May 21 in support of the transport employees.
