Talking to reporters after holding discussions with senior BJP leaders at the party headquarters here, he said by making such statements, the DMK was indulging in cheap politics. Countering it, he asked, “Was DMK a puppet in the hands of the Congress when it was part of the UPA government?”
Stating that the Centre was providing necessary financial assistance to the state government, he said the BJP-led government at the Centre had completed three years of corruption free regime.
Replying to a question, he reiterated that the BJP would not interfere in the internal affairs of the AIADMK and that the Centre had nothing to do in the recent I-T raids at the offices and residences of state Minister Dr C Vijaya Baskar and other places.
He also said that the BJP was ready to face the local body elections in Tamil Nadu. On the demand by farmers for waiver of all farm loans, Naidu said that the Centre could not do it. It was for the state government to take a call on it.
He also pointed out that it was the respective state governments in Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana which had waived the farm loans.
“Similarly, the Tamil Nadu government should take a decision depending upon its financial position,” he noted.
