For the first time, aspirants to take NEET in 8 regional languages
As a first, NEET 2017 will be held in eight regional languages, including Tamil, along with Hindi and English. Until last year, the exam was conducted in English and Hindi only. Candidates facing the test were advised to reach the centres at least 30 minutes before the commencement of the examination.

There will be a clock at every centre that runs an identical time to the NEET web portal that they need to follow. Candidates were also advised not to carry any textual or digital material inside the examination hall as they would be provided with a pen. Otherwise, an unfair means case will be marked against them. Further, such candidates will be debarred from taking NEET permanently and a criminal action will be initiated.Â
Hall ticket checks will commence at 9.30 am following which question papers will be handed over.Â
Ten minutes later, invigilators will allow candidates to read the question paper and precisely at 10 am the students can start writing their answers.Â
While the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducts NEET 2017, admission to 15 per cent ‘All India Quota’ seats in government medical and dental colleges is filled by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) through online counselling.
Similarly, admission to 85 per cent ‘state quota’ seats in government medical and dental colleges is filled by the Directorate of Medical Education for the respective states.
The Directorate of Medical Education will conduct counselling for MBBS and BDS seats in private and deemed medical universities, including central universities and minority institutions based on the NEET merit list.
The exam results will be announced on June 8.
