Gang robs Bangalore Mail passengers
In a shocking incident that reminds one of train robberies in movies of the 80’s, a gang stopped a moving train, threatened passengers at knifepoint and took away about 25 sovereigns of jewellery and other valuables.
Chennai
The burglary took place on board Bangalore Mail (Train no: 12658), coming to Chennai at around 12.45 am on Sunday, near Pachur station close to Jolarpet, which falls under the Bengaluru railway division. The Bangalore Mail was running to full capacity and as the train neared Pachur, Koppam, someone pulled the chain in a Second AC compartment.
When the train stopped, a seven-member gang rushed in to the S-4, S-5 and S-6 coaches and started snatching the gold chains of the women who were sleeping. The gang members carried knives and threatened to murder those who refused to part with their valuables.
