Budget talks dominate EPS’ first cabinet meet

The meeting which began at 4.30 pm lasted more than two hours. Sources said the forthcoming state budget which is the first budget that the new Finance Minister D Jayakumar was discussed. 

The budget is likely to be presented on Monday, March 20, sources added. Also discussed were NEET and what the state government should do to ensure the central government’s and presidential sanction for the proposed state government move seeking exemption from this national medical selection examination. 

The agitation against the proposed central government move to extract hydrocarbon from Neduvasal in Pudukottai was also discussed during the cabinet meet.
