Governor delay an injustice to Tamil Nadu; Navaneethakrishnan
Restless AIADMK camp on Wednesday afternoon trained its rusted guns at Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao, describing Raj Bhavan’s delay in inviting CM-designate Edappadi K Palanisamy to form government as an ‘injustice’ done to the people of Tamil Nadu.

The party has also sent a reminder to Raj Bhavan early this evening. Talking to reporters outside Golden Bay resort in Koovathur, AIADMK Rajya Sabha MP A Navaneethakrishnan said, “Edappadi K Palanisami had staked claim to form the government at 5 pm on Tuesday, but we have not received any response from Raj Bhavan so far. This delay is an injustice to the people of Tamil Nadu.”
Asked to explain the reason for the delay, Navaneethakrishnan who initially advised media to put the query to the governor, added that they have sent a reminder to Raj Bhavan on Wednesday evening and efforts were also being made for the party MPs to meet the Governor.
Quickly Realizing the gravity of his comments, the former advocate general said, “Governor is an expert in law and able administrator. He is efficient and honest person who has held various positions. But, his delay worries us.” Urging Raj Bhavan not to delay further and invite Palanisamy immediately, the AIADMK MP refused to give in to scribes pointed queries about moving the court and said that legal remedy could be sought only after exhausting other options.
When his attention was drawn to Koovathur police filing cases against Sasikala and Palanisamy, the lawyer-politician said, “The FIR is available online. There are no charges against Edappadi Palanisamy. Charges levelled against Sasikala are untrue,” attributing MLAs continuous stay at the resort to convenience and security. “Governor will invite us any time to form government. We are staying here for convenience and security. Party office does not have facilities for all to stay.”
MLAs routine media briefing continues at Koovathur
After a day’s break, the MLAs followed their routine and started meeting media persons one by one outside the resort in Koovathur, mostly to criticize Raj Bhavan and demonstrate their unwavering loyalty to the imprisoned party general secretary V K Sasikala, who along with her sister-in-law Ilavarasi surrendered before the Bangalore special court from where they were sent to Parappana Agrahara prison.
Former DGP backs Sasikala camp
Former DGP and Mylapore MLA R Natraj has sprung a surprise by extending his support to CM-designate Edappadi K Palanisamy. The former top cop, who was tipped to tilt in favour of rebel O Panneerselvam, told that he would support the person who has the majority. “I don’t belong to any camp. I am a neutral person who follows Jayalalithaa. The person who has the majority should form the government. Support should be extended to that person and hence I support Idappadi K Palanisamy,” he said.
