    Sri Ramakrishnan Institute of Oncology and Research launched e-books in English and Tamil on 35 types of cancers their early signs, symptoms, detection methods and the treatment modalities, in detail. They can be easily downloaded to smart phones and tablets. 

    The e-books have a lot of features such as diagrammatic representation of various procedures. It can be downloaded from Google Play Store by searching “Cancer Awareness Dr Guhan.” 

    Eera Nenjam Trust celebrated the day with cancer affected children undergoing treatment in the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH). It’s managing trustee P Mahendiran said that the NGO that is involved in various service activities at the CMCH came across several stories of cancer affected children. 

    “Some children have undergone multiple surgeries and their organs have been removed. This has made them dull. So, we asked what they wanted and got it for them,” he said and added that they presented big soft dolls, toys, chocolates, new dresses and shoes for the children and spent a day with them.
