“This is yet another instance, in which Kerala has attempted to violate the final order of the Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal, seriously jeopardizing the rights of the lower riparian state of Tamil Nadu and affecting the livelihood of farmers dependent on water from Cauvery river and its tributaries like Bhavani and Amaravathy,” he mentioned in the letter.

He also informed the Prime Minister that the Kerala government had commenced the groundwork for laying the foundation for a dam across Pambar at Pattisserry. Construction materials for the concrete foundation has also been kept ready at the site, the letter stated.“I request you to kindly instruct the Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation to immediately advise the government of Kerala to forthwith stop the construction works of the dam across Pambar at Pattisserry,” said the letter.
