DMK stages walk-out decrying Chief Minister’s silence on judicial probe

Earlier, Panneerselvam while replying to a question posed by Stalin during a Calling Attention Motion, gave a detailed reply regarding the incidents that happened on the Marina. 

Subsequently, when the Leader of Opposition demanded to order an inquiry commission headed by a sitting High Court judge to go into the mayhem on Marina, neither Speaker P Dhanapal nor the Chief Minister responded. 

The speaker moved to the next item on the Assembly agenda, following which the DMK staged a walkout. Later, talking to media persons, Stalin condemned the attitude of the Chief Minister. 

Referring to the CM’s that cops had video evidence of anti-socials indulging in violence, Stalin said that his party had also compiled a CD showing various acts of violence indulged in by the police, which had gone viral on the social media. He said that copies of the CD have been sent to the President, Prime Minister, Home Minister and the Governor for action. 

The MLAs then trooped back into the House to participate in the motion of thanks to the Governor’s address. DMK’s ally Congress, however, did not participate in the walkout.
